I haven’t watched an episode of The Simpsons in years, but I’m always interested when they stray a bit in their style, like in the clip above where they pay tribute to Hayao Miyazaki. The Bill Plympton couch gag below is another piece of awesomeness, but as friend of the site Grant says, “As awesome as devoting 3 minutes of your show to a tribute to a Japanese director, it really doesn’t make good TV. Ditto getting other artists to riff on the couch gag. It’s perfect internet popcorn, but not much else.” Too right. *munch*
