You’re probably thinking, “Gary Busey was in a band?! Why, the idea of that is almost as absurd as him getting an Oscar nomination”. Well, considering that Busey once DID get an Oscar nomination for portraying Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story, it’s not so absurd to think that the guy has musical talent. Anyway, in 1969, before his acting career took off, Busey was a drummer, songwriter and backup singer in a short-lived band called Carp, who released one album, along with this single entitled “Save the Delta Queen”. Yep, those are Gary Busey’s vocals you’re hearing in the background.
