As you probably know, shortly after the Academy Award nominations are announced, it’s a tradition here at The Back Row for me to do “Before They Were Stars” features on as many of the nominees as possible. Leonardo DiCaprio has just captured his fourth Oscar nomination for his remarkable performance in The Wolf of Wall Street and if there’s any justice, this will be his year to finally take home the statue. In the meantime, since I’ve never been shy to showcase any of Leo’s childhood television commercials, here he is at the age of 16 in an ad for fat free, low-cholesterol Kraft Singles. Is it just me or does it sound like the announcer mispronounces “Kraft” as “crap” at the end?
