Before They Were Stars: Bill Murray Voices the Human Torch on a “Fantastic Four” Radio Series

Big props to Gill for sending this my way as it’s definitely one of the more obscure “Before They Were Stars” entries I’ve ever done. In 1975, an unknown Bill Murray was still two years away from Saturday Night Live, so he got himself a gig voicing Johnny “The Human Torch” Storm on a radio serial drama version of Fantastic Four. Yes, believe it or not, kids, there was once a time when there weren’t Marvel movies coming out in cinemas every single year and comic book fans had to get their fix by listening to these Stan Lee-narrated stories on the radio. But, man, the Fantastic Four movies would have been a zillion times better if Bill Murray had come back to portray the Human Torch.
