Yesterday, I showcased Halle Berry’s early role on A Different World, the 1980s sitcom which was a spin-off of The Cosby Show. When A Different World first hit the airwaves in 1987, an unknown Marisa Tomei was actually a full-time member of the cast. Unfortunately for Tomei, there was a revamp of the show at the start of the second season which meant that A Different World would focus exclusively on black characters, so she wound up being cut out.
