Before They Were Stars: Bob Hoskins in the Ken Campbell Roadshow

In response to the recent death of Bob Hoskins, a rare “Before They Were Stars” clip was just posted of his first major acting job. In the early 1970s, British stage director Ken Campbell formed a theatre group called the “Ken Campbell Roadshow”, where a troupe of actors would perform comedy sketches in pubs and other venues. This gig was pretty much Hoskins’ first big acting break and here’s an early showcase of his comedic skills in this nearly dialogue-free sketch where he attempts to play Russian roulette. Incidentally, Doctor Who fans will probably recognize the seventh incarnation of the Doctor, Sylvester McCoy, as the other male actor in this sketch.
