I’ve been hearing about Fox’s new Batman TV series called Gotham for some time now. The show will serve as a prequel to the events of the Batman canon, pre-dated Bruce Wayne’s transformation into the Dark Knight, and I guess the transformation of most of the city’s population into villains. The first trailer for Gotham is finally here, and frankly, I wish it looked better. The premise has potential, but the way this thing is shot really makes it look like a fan film. The lighting, the acting…maybe it’s just this preview, but I don’t have high hopes for Gotham. Fingers crossed that I’m wrong. Of course, if the series does turn out to be good, it’s pretty well guaranteed that Fox will cancel it prematurely.
