Before They Were Stars: Brandon Lee Fights David Carradine in “Kung Fu: The Movie”

You may be familiar with the story of how Bruce Lee was originally going to be cast in the lead role of Kwai Chang Caine in the TV series, Kung Fu, but the role wound up going to the very non-Asian David Carradine. So it seems only appropriate that Bruce’s son, Brandon Lee, would eventually be cast as Kwai Chang Caine’s son when the franchise was revived in 1986 as the made-for-TV flick, Kung Fu: The Movie. This was Brandon’s first acting job and he would even get to perform a fight scene with the man who originally took his late father’s role.
