Throughout the 1980s, You Can’t Do That on Television, a Canadian sketch comedy show featuring teen and pre-teen actors, was produced in Ottawa. In 1986, a local 12-year old elementary school student named Alanis Morrissette joined the cast and appeared in five episodes. Little did anyone know that this kid would become an internationally renowned recording artist a few years later.
