“A Brett Ratner film.” Those words are usually poison to my eyes, but y’know, this one doesn’t look too bad. Hercules is appropriately cheesy, so maybe Ratner won’t completely muck it up. Plus, the casting is inspired, if a bit of a sausage fest. I can’t think of a better Hercules than Dwayne Johnson, and having Ian McShane and John Hurt as some older, wiser dudes is never a bad thing. But at the same time…it’s a Hercules movie directed by Brett Ratner, and it looks an awful lot like the remake of Clash of the Titans. Yuck.
