Before They Were Stars: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in “Nightwatch”

I’ve always liked the 1994 Danish horror film, Nightwatch, but I was surprised to look back and discover that it provided the first lead role for current Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Incidentally, I remember seeing the 1998 American remake of Nightwatch in theaters and initially being impressed with it… until I finally saw the original film and realized that director Ole Bornedal pretty much did the remake as a scene-for-scene carbon copy. Incidentally, Coster-Waldau’s first major Hollywood job was a supporting role in Black Hawk Down, which also happened to star Ewan MacGregor… who played Coster-Waldau’s role in the Nightwatch remake!
