Before They Were Stars: Meschach Taylor is Sliced in Half in “Damien: Omen II”

Meschach Taylor, who was best known for his Emmy-nominated role on the sitcom, Designing Women, recently passed away of cancer at the age of 67. Truth to be told, I’ve never watched Designing Women, so I’m not all that familiar with Mr. Taylor’s work… but I do know him from a truly spectacular death scene in Damien: Omen II. Taylor made his acting debut with a minor role as a doctor in the first sequel to The Omen. He discovers evidence that Damien is the Antichrist, so naturally, this dooms him to a very gruesome demise where he is sliced in half by an elevator cable. The only clip I could find was from this Polish-dubbed version of Damien: Omen II. Taylor makes his first appearance at the 5:08 mark, but if you want to go straight to the death scene, you can skip to 8:22.
