Before They Were Stars: 19-Year Old Kanye West Raps at a Record Store Opening

For some reason, I find the idea of Kanye West performing at the grand opening of a record store hilarious, but such a thing did occur in 1996. When he was 19 years old and still a complete unknown, Kanye was looking for any gigs he could find and got hired to perform when a Fat Beats record store opened up in New York City.
