I had two reactions upon watching this trailer for Automata. The first, knee-jerk reaction was “Hey, that looks pretty cool! Those are good special effects!” The second reaction was “Is this just a retread of I, Robot?” Because the plot, combined with the inclusion of Asimov’s Laws of Robotics, seems very I, Robot-like, and I can’t say I was much of a fan of that movie. Anyway, I’ll have to reserve judgement until more stuff about Automata is released before I declare either reaction to be the appropriate one. What do you think of this film?
