We mostly cover blockbusters and genre films here on TBR, but every now and again a movie that doesn’t fit with our general tastes comes along and I can’t help but post about it. Such is the case with The Overnighters, a documentary that’s been making waves on the festival circuit. On the surface, this seems like a pretty run-of-the-mill documentary about oil workers and their economic struggles, but the Drafthouse Films logo and the hints at some deeper story (about kidnapping?) imply that this is much more than it seems. Needless to say, I’m intrigued.
The Overnighters comes out October 10, 2014.
