Before They Were Stars: Mia Farrow Auditions for “The Sound of Music”

I always love uncovering rare footage of recognizable actors auditioning for iconic roles before when they were famous… especially when it’s clear they were all wrong for said role. Here’s an unknown Mia Farrow testing for the role of Liesl Von Trapp in The Sound of Music and… well, let’s just say there’s a reason you never saw her in too many musicals. Farrow didn’t get the part, but, hey, she still went on to a successful career while Charmian Carr, the actress who played Liesl, only has one other credit to her name.
