Before They Were Stars: 17-Year Old Carla Gugino Flirts with Zack Morris

About three minutes into this clip, you’re going to see 17-year old Carla Gugino as a high school student who flirts with Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell… before it was actually Saved by the Bell. You see, a lot of people forget that Saved by the Bell originated in a 1988 Disney Channel series called Good Morning, Miss Bliss. Hayley Mills played the title character, a high school teacher named Miss Bliss, and a lot familiar characters made their debut here, such as Zack Morris, Lisa Turtle, Screech and Mr. Belding. It just so happens that Good Morning, Miss Bliss was cancelled after only 13 episodes and a lot of the show’s characters (minus Miss Bliss) were transplanted into an all-new revamped series called Saved by the Bell and the rest is history.
