I think at this point we’ve all accepted that the Hobbit movies are nowhere near as good as The Lord of the Rings, but many of us, myself included, still find them to be entertaining fantasy films. That being said, the first two Hobbit outings were just a tad overlong, but even so, this trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies does succeed in getting me excited for the final installment of the trilogy.
Strangely, these films are so connected to winter in my mind that now when I see a new trailer for one, I recall that crisp chill of winter air that I always feel when I get out of a car in front of the movie theatre, ready to watch Peter Jackson’s latest fantasy epic. So, uh, there’s that, I guess.
The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies comes out December 17, 2014. What will we do when there are no more Tolkien properties to adapt?! Oh, and as a bonus, here’s the UK trailer.
