Before They Were Stars: Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart Performs with The Gentrys

If you’re a wrestling fan, you might be familiar with Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart, one of the top heel managers in the World Wrestling Federation during the 1980s. Since Hart had an extensive background in music, he was also instrumental in composing a lot of the WWF’s entrance themes and was a key figure in the “Rock ‘n’ Wrestling” boom of that era. Hart initially found success in the 1960s in a rock band called The Gentrys and they even performed in the 1967 beach party film, It’s a Bikini World. That’s the future “Mouth of the South” standing in front of the window with a Beatles haircut.
