When World Wrestling Entertainment films a segment which requires the use of actors or background extras, they’ll often hire independent wrestlers to play the roles. Sometimes, these “extras” will go on to have pretty successful careers. For a prime example of this, look for a young, unknown CM Punk shaking hands with Brock Lesnar in this backstage segment from an episode of WWE Smackdown in 2003. Some of the other extras here include Ken Kennedy and Shawn Daivari, who would also go on to wrestle for WWE. However, the CM Punk-Brock Lesnar interaction is the most interesting since they went on to wrestle a classic five-star match together ten years later at Summerslam 2013.
