Before They Were Stars: 10-Year Old Dakota Johnson at the 2000 Academy Awards

If you watched the red carpet ceremony for the Academy Awards this past Sunday, the most annoying aspect of it was easily the non-stop overexposure of 50 Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson, who seemed to get more interview time than most of the nominees. Well, enjoy it while you can, kid, because you’re unlikely to be this close to the Oscars ever again. But on the bright side, they did give me some “Before They Were Stars” material by showing some footage of 10-year old Dakota attending the Academy Awards in 2000 alongside her mother, Melanie Griffith, and then-stepfather, Antonio Banderas, and getting some mic time on the red carpet that year.
