After Neill Blomkamp failed to win people over with Elysium (although I still defend the hell out of that movie), I find myself pretty surprised with how much positive buzz I’ve been hearing from people about Chappie. And, I mean, what’s not to be excited about? This looks like Short Circuit mashed up with Robocop, and not only does it feature Die Antwoord being their weirdy selves, but also Sigourney Weaver and Hugh Jackman – who sports quite the mullet. It all looks pretty good to me, but I really wonder if Chappie will be able to appeal to a wider audience.
