A Tribute to Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015)

We were all deeply saddened yesterday to learn of the passing of Leonard Nimoy, a talented actor, author, and icon of science fiction. Even though he was in his 80’s, Nimoy was still active, with his most recent on-screen appearance being in 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness. While his health issues meant that he was unable to travel, I still had the pleasure of seeing him via livestream at last year’s Ottawa ComicCon, and he was just as lively as ever. We’ll be dedicating next week’s episode of our podcast to Nimoy, so I will keep this tribute brief and encourage you to tune in on Friday, March 6, 2015, for our full Nimoy tribute. In the meantime, please enjoy these few clips from Nimoy’s career. We have some of Nimoy’s best Spocking up top, and under this paragraph you’ll find the trailer for 3 Men and a Baby, which Nimoy directed. It was a huge success and was the highest-grossing movie of North America in 1987.

Even Nimoy’s more recent work was pretty awesome, which this music video for Bruno Mars’ The Lazy Song being some of my favourite Nimoy acting of all time. Rest in peace, Leonard Nimoy. You lived long and prospered.
