Before They Were Stars: Lucy Liu in a Hong Kong Film

Even though she was born in New York, Lucy Liu seemingly went through a phase where she thought her career in the U.S. wasn’t going anywhere and made a brief foray into Hong Kong cinema. The first film credit on Liu’s resume is an obscure 1992 Hong Kong effort called Rhythm of Destiny. Incidentally, the star of this film is legendary Asian actor Danny Lee, best known for his role in John Woo’s The Killer, but since he doesn’t appear in any of these clips, it seems like Liu didn’t get any scenes with him.
