Before he became one of the world’s biggest movie stars, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was one of the world’s biggest pro wrestling stars, which became his inevitable career path after an attempt at a pro football career went nowhere. Johnson spent his college years playing for the University of Miami Hurricanes. In 1995, the Hurricanes made it to the Orange Bowl and played the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but the Canes wound up blowing a 17-7 third quarter lead and losing 24-17 to the Huskers. You can see the future Rock wearing No. 94 among the sea of white Canes jerseys. Right before the Huskers’ winning touchdown with two minutes remaining in the game, Johnson received a bad omen for his football aspirations when he was tackled by a Nebraska lineman and wound up getting pulled off the field for a substitution.
