Later today, we will be posting up a Shouts From the Back Row podcast about disaster movies in which the recently released San Andreas and Titanic are both discussed. And besides both being disaster flicks, what ties these two films together? Ioan Gruffudd, that’s what! In San Andreas, Gruffudd played the cliched role of the hero’s ex-wife’s current boyfriend, who turns out to be a cowardly douchebag. However, Gruffudd’s early role in Titanic is quite a sharp contrast, as he portrayed Fifth Officer Harold Lowe, who headed the only lifeboat which went back to rescue survivors from the water after the ship sank. In the movie, he winds up saving Rose.
