A Perfectly Dark Stranger’s Neighbor’s Step-son’s Place Online

Libby Day was only seven years old when her family was brutally murdered in their rural Kansas farmhouse. Twenty-five years later, she agrees to revisit the crime and uncovers the wrenching truths that led up to that tragic night.

If you’re wondering about the title of this post, well, it’s because Lifetime Channel made-for-TV movies usually use at least one of those words in their titles. And that’s what Dark Places looks like: a Lifetime movie. Now, I fully admit to enjoying Gone Girl in an airport bookstore novel (or big-budget Lifetime movie) sort of way, but after seeing this trailer, I’m convinced that the quality of Gone Girl was almost entirely because of David Fincher, and barely because of the source material. I mean, a satanic cult? Really?

Dark Places comes out August 7, 2015.
