Before They Were Stars: Ice Cube Sings “She’s a Skag”

With Straight Outta Compton making a killing at the box office this weekend, I started wondering if today’s younger generation only knows Ice Cube as the star of a bunch of lame family comedies and aren’t even aware of his controversial ascent to stardom in the rap group, N.W.A.. Anyway, before N.W.A., Cube was in a rap group called C.I.A.. In 1986, when he was only 17 years old, Cube and one of his fellow C.I.A. group members, K-Dee, recorded this rare, little-heard single with the classy title, “She’s a Skag”.
