Well, we can thank Gill’s feelings of nostalgia for uncovering this one. He recently revisited a childhood favourite of his called Tommy Tricker and the Stamp Traveller, a 1988 Canadian family film about a boy discovering a magical postage stamp which allows them to travel around the world. Gill was quite surprised to discover that a 14-year old Rufus Wainwright made an appearance in the film in which he sang a song called “I’m a-Runnin'”. In fact, Wainwright actually wound up garnering a Genie Award nomination that year for “Best Original Song”, but wound up losing to the title song from a film called Cowboys Don’t Cry, because clearly, the duo of Louis Natale and Anne Wheeler were destined for much bigger things.
