If you’re Canadian, you don’t have to be a huge baseball fan to be familiar with the name “Jose Bautista” right now, as he became one of our country’s biggest heroes last week after hitting a monster home run to help the Toronto Blue Jays win the American League Division Series. Even though Bautista is one of Major League Baseball’s top home run hitters, the first few seasons of his career were pretty unspectacular. He started off by bouncing around between four different teams and believe it or not, did not even hit his first career home run until his third season in the majors. It occurred on May 13, 2006 while he was playing with the Pittsburgh Pirates, but there would be a whole lot more of these homers to come.
