Before They Were Stars: David Duchovny as “Club Goer with Glasses” in “Bad Influence”

Since we just did a Shouts from the Back Row podcast on The X-Files, I thought I’d showcase a minuscule role from early in David Duchovny’s career. Bad Influence was a 1990 thriller starring Rob Lowe as a psycho who’s, um, a bad influence on James Spader. In this nightclub scene, you can briefly see David Duchovny standing at the bar in the background at the bar as “Club Goer with Glasses” . Given that Duchovny is only onscreen for about three seconds and is practically an extra here, it’s pretty surprising that he actually got a credit for this role, so I have to think he possibly had some lines of dialogue which were left on the cutting room floor.
