Sadly, Alan Young, best known to modern audiences as the voice of Scrooge McDuck, recently passed away at the age of 96. Young’s career in show business spanned many decades, as he was also notable for being the lead actor on Mister Ed and had his very own sketch comedy television series in the early 1950s called The Alan Young Show, which won a bunch of Emmy Awards. However, The Alan Young Show found its origin as a Canadian radio show during the 1940s and here’s one episode from Boxing Day 1944. Even without the Scottish accent, the voice of Scrooge McDuck is still very recognizable.
