L’Illusionniste Looks Gorgeous

L’Illusionniste is the newest film from director Sylvain Chomet, whose distinct visual style can also be seen in his previous feature The Triplets of Belleville. I think this looks absolutely fantastic. The animation is lush and beautiful, and watching a struggling magician try to compete with the uprising of rock and roll in the 1950’s promises to be a very good, albeit sad, time indeed. L’Illusionniste will get a limited release sometime around December, though it is getting a screening at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, so all you Torontonians should be sure to catch it!
