Celebrity Birthday of the Day – August 12

Alright, so I have something to confess. Though I am admittedly embarassed, I must say that I chose William Goldman today solely because of The Princess Bride. It was not until I looked him up that I realized how many other scripts he wrote! Look at some of these credits: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Stepford Wives, Marathon Man, Heat, Maverick, and The Ghost and the Darkness. And he seems to have a certain fondness for converting Stephen King stories into screenplays, as can be seen with Misery, Hearts in Atlantis, and Dreamcatcher. I do have to say, however, that even though I didn’t realize he had so many scripts under his belt, The Princess Bride is by far his best.
