A fellow by the name of Daniel Smith directed and co-wrote this wicked-awesome cartoon short called Star Wars: The Solo Adventures, and I’ve gotta say, it’s some of the best Star Wars-related media I’ve seen in ages. I was a big fan of the Genndy Tartakovsky Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoons (the 2D animated ones, not the new CGI ones), but since then there really hasn’t been any particularly noteworthy Star Wars visual media, in my opinion. Other than the hilarious Lego Star Wars series, I haven’t even been particularly interested in the video games. Then along comes The Solo Adventures, created for Star Wars Celebration V, and man is it good. The Harrison Ford impersonator doing Solo’s voice is bang-on, the humour is good, it has some great spaceship action, and if you happen to own a pair of red/cyan 3D glasses, you can watch it in 3D! Who could ask for anything more?
