Night of the Living…Trekkies?

This is a preview for Night of the Living Trekkies, the upcoming novel from Quirk Books (the people behind Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and all the spin-offs and associated properties thereof). Now, I haven’t read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and while the subject matter appeals to me, the idea of Natalie Portman starring in a film adaptation of the book interests me way more, and so when I see this cheesy, funny trailer for a book of Night of the Living Trekkies, although part of me approves, another part of me wishes it were a trailer for a movie instead. I mean, it almost seems like a waste to have filmed such an elaborate preview that really LOOKS like a trailer for a movie, but is actually advertising a work from an entirely different medium. But maybe I’m also just a great big movie nerd. Either way, I dig the idea of a zombie outbreak at a Star Trek convention. It combines two sides of geek culture that rarely get to cross over, and for that, I give this serious props.
