Mrs. Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room Looks Pretty, Needs To Invest In Some Better Lightbulbs

This trailer came right out of left field for me. Apparently Mrs. Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room is based on a short film from British musician and sometimes TV director Mike Le Han, who used the short of the same name to impress some industry bigwigs. Now not only does he have a deal to make a movie out of it, but it’s going to be the first part in a trilogy! While this trailer does have some pretty posh production design, it leaves me wondering exactly what the hook will be, though. So the girl meets Mrs. Peppercorn and discovers the magical reading room…but then what? There’s no real indication of any villains or…well, any real danger in this trailer. It’s just an early teaser, I know, but I’m having trouble imagining where this story will go for the duration of one film, let alone three.
