Ok, first and foremost, happy birthday to David Caradine. I did not overlook him, I just have some personal (aka emotional) history with today’s celebrity.
Nancy Meyers is a film writer, producer, and director. I am a complete and utter sucker for her screenplays, as just about all of them have reduced me to sobbing alone in my basement (or sometimes not alone in a movie theatre). She has a knack for touching family comedies, as can be seen with her scripts for Father of the Bride 1 &2, The Parent Trap, Something’s Gotta Give, The Holiday, and It’s Complicated. With the exception of the Father of the Bride films, she has also directed all of those titles. Another title that can be added to her director resume is What Women Want. She is currently developing a remake of her own screenplay for 1980’s Private Benjamin.
