Before They Were Stars: Sean Penn as an Extra on “Little House on the Prairie”

Sometimes you break into the acting business simply because you feel like hanging around on the set with your dad all day. When he was only fourteen years old, Sean Penn got his first acting gig as a background extra on an episode of Little House on the Prairie. He had no lines and did not receive any credit for his role, and pretty much only got the job because his father, Leo Penn, was the director of the episode. You’ll recognize him as the kid with the blonde hair and the blue paid shirt.
