Sony announced yesterday that the new Spider-Man reboot film, directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield, will be called The Amazing Spider-Man, and also released the first photo of Garfield in his full Spidey costume to sate the nerdy fanboys. I like The Amazing Spider-Man as a title, and I always thought it was a shame that Sam Raimi went with Spider-Man 2 instead of The Amazing Spider-Man. Then he could have titled part 3 The Spectacular Spider-Man, which would have given the trilogy a nice rounded feel. I suppose they can do that with this new incarnation of the Spidey franchise, though, which is pretty cool.
I’m still unsure as to what I think of the new Spider-Man costume, though. It has the right look about it, but the texture just seems wrong to me. Am I the only one who thinks our favourite webslinger’s head looks like a basketball in this pic?
