A couple of days ago, I did a “Before They Were Stars” feature on Zac Efron’s acting debut in Firefly and wrote: “The only possible thing that could have made for a larger disparity in fanbases than this would have been if Robert Pattinson had made his acting debut in an episode of Buffy“. Well, in an ironic twist of fate, it turns out the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie helped unleash Ben Affleck upon the world since one of his earliest acting jobs was this very brief uncredited appearance as a basketball player. Unfortunately, the only clip I could find of the scene is in Spanish, but since Affleck doesn’t have any dialogue anyway, it hardly matters. In fact, just go to IMDb and read the full cast list for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and you’ll be shocked at how many recognizable names acted in this film before they were famous, including Hilary Swank, David Arquette, Natasha Gregson Wagner and Thomas Jane. In fact, even Seth Green, who became a cast member on the Buffy TV series, had a scene in the Buffy movie that wound up being cut out!
