Before They Were Stars: Natalie Portman Sings and Dances About Recycling

Natalie Portman is yet another celebrity that I wanted to a “Before They Were Stars” feature on, but didn’t think it was possible since she instantly shot to stardom after her debut role in Leon: The Professional. However, it turns out that when she was eleven years old and still went by her real name, Natalie Hershlag, she joined a song-and-dance troupe called World Patrol Kids. The troupe produced a lot of children’s educational videos about environmental issues, and Natalie wound up being the host of one which was entitled Recycle It! and she got to perform in a musical number about the importance of recycling. If you thought her dance choreography in Black Swan was awe-inspiring, you ain’t seen nothing yet!
