Before They Were Stars: Bruce Willis on “The Twilight Zone”

I’ve already done a “Before They Were Stars” feature on today’s birthday boy, Bruce Willis, when I showcased his role as a background extra during Paul Newman’s climactic courtroom speech in The Verdict. Well, this “Before They Were Stars” is actually going to feature two Bruce Willises for the price of one! One of his earliest speaking roles was appearing in this 1985 episode of The Twilight Zone, which also happened to be directed by Wes Craven. Willis’ segment was entitled “Shatterday” and involves his character making a phone call to his apartment, where he winds up talking to his own alter ego on the other end of the line. Sadly, we do not get to see Bruce Willis say “Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!” to himself.
