Before They Were Stars: Christopher Nolan Directs “Doodlebug”

Since today’s Shouts From the Back Row podcast is going to be covering the brilliant career of Christopher Nolan, it’s only appropriate that I show you where it all started. Doodlebug is a black-and-white short film that Nolan made while he was attending University College London and features Jeremy Theobald (who starred in Nolan’s feature film debut, Following) as a man trying to squash a bug in his apartment. It’s only three minutes long, but it builds up to a pretty neat twist at the end. It doesn’t involve a spinning top, but it’ll do.
