Ian McKellen is a classically trained actor who has done a number of Shakespearen performances, but who achieved huge popularity in the last decade for appearing in two immensely popular film trilogies. First he played Magneto in the X-Men films, then he brought Gandolf to life in The Lord of the Rings epics. Some other films I liked him in include Apt Pupil and The Da Vinci Code. We are all looking forward to him being Gandolf again for the upcoming Hobbit films. Also, be sure to check him out playing Death for a short while at the end of one of Robin’s Underrated Gems.
