Watch this trailer for the new film Bunraku and tell me what you think, because I honestly can’t decide. The hyper-stylized, uber-colourfu, retro-modern pop-up-book world setting looks pretty damn cool on a visual level, and there are some quality actors among the cast (Josh Hartnett, Woody Harrelson, Ron Perlman), but…but…it also looks like it could suck really, really badly. And didn’t Megan Fox play the same role in the godawful Jonah Hex as Demi Moore does here? This one could go either way – good or bad – or it could just sit smack dab in the middle as a mediocre and forgettable film. I hope it turns out well, but I’m not banking on it.
Also, how cool is it that one of the stars of this movie is a guy named Gackt?
