Dogs and Cats, Living Together!

From the director of Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, 10,000 B.C., and 2012, comes…a movie about Shakespeare? The plot of Roland Emmerich’s latest venture, a film called Anonymous about the real story behind the most famous plays in all of history, is quite unlike his usual disaster movie fare, and…and…I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually really, really looking forward to a Roland Emmerich film! Truly, the impossible has happened. Sure, I’ve seen most of the movies I listed above, but I’ve only ever enjoyed them as mindless, popcorn visual effects extravaganzas, and of his numerous directorial efforts the only movies that I’ve actually cared to see more than once were Stargate and Independence Day. But Anonymous looks absolutely fantastic. Kinda like a better-constructed, more interesting Da Vinci Code about the Bard! Am I alone on this one? Does anyone else think this looks terrific? Also, I should say that Rhys Ifans looks more dastardly and villainous here than he did in the trailer for The Amazing Spider-man. Here’s another trailer for Anonymous to round things off. I can’t wait to see this!
