Werner Herzog is a German auteur filmmaker who is just so damn awesome that I’ve already posted most of my favourite Werner Herzog stuff on TBR. He’s directed a wide variety of feature films spanning genres such as historical drama, war and documentary, and he even directed the unlikely sequel The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. He’s so unique as both a filmmaker and a human being that it’s kinda mesmerizing. He’s weird, he’s funny, and he’s willing to eat a shoe. There’s no way anyone can hate Werner Herzog. He turns 69 today.
