I love magic, and while I find the kind of magic that David Copperfield performs a bit cheesy, I can’t deny that this guy is an incredible performer. He’s made the statue of liberty disappear, he holds 11 Guiness World Records, he has a star onthe Hollywood walk of fame, he was declared a Living Legend by the U.S. Congress, and he’s sold more tickets as a single performer than Michael Jackson (he currently performs around 500 shows a year). He’s been performing magic since he was a kid, and at the age fo 12, he was the youngest person ever inducted into the Society of American Magicians. And he’s the son of a hatmaker! Copperfield turns 55 today.
