Star Trek vs. Star Wars, According To Shatner

It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that Shatner would promote Star Trek over Star Wars, but he does make a lot of good points about the comparison between the two franchises. Perhaps his best point, which is one that we failed to touch upon in today’s episode, is that Star Wars is derivative of Star Trek. By jove, he’s right! But I will take issue with him saying that by loading the new Star Trek movies with special effect, they’re pulling Star Wars‘s last leg out from under it – if anything, that’s J.J. Abrams trying to be more like Star Wars. Anyway, no matter which side of the Trek/Wars debate you’re on, I’m sure you will find something to enjoy about this clip.
